Tests

Between 8 March 2022 and 14 March 2022, there have been 4,799,199 tests. This shows an increase of 9.3% compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 9 March 2022 and 15 March 2022, 492,103 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 52.4% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.

52,713,188 people had been given a first dose by the end of 14 March 2022.

49,226,170 people had been given a second dose by the end of 14 March 2022.

38,537,731 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 14 March 2022.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 4 March 2022 and 10 March 2022, 10,315 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 18.4% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 13,548 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 14 March 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 280 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 14 March 2022.

Deaths

Between 9 March 2022 and 15 March 2022, there have been 714 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -2.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
