Tests

Between 9 March 2022 and 15 March 2022, there have been 4,867,725 tests. This shows an increase of 9.4% compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 10 March 2022 and 16 March 2022, 516,289 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 49.2% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.

52,717,164 people had been given a first dose by the end of 15 March 2022.

49,239,879 people had been given a second dose by the end of 15 March 2022.

38,556,133 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 15 March 2022.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 6 March 2022 and 12 March 2022, 11,047 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 20.9% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 14,078 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 15 March 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 281 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 15 March 2022.

Deaths

Between 10 March 2022 and 16 March 2022, there have been 744 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -4.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
