Tests

Between 14 March 2022 and 20 March 2022, there have been 5,136,855 tests. This shows an increase of 9.3%compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 15 March 2022 and 21 March 2022, 607,737people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 36.8% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.

52,747,246 people had been given a first dose by the end of 20 March 2022.

49,312,977 people had been given a second dose by the end of 20 March 2022.

38,648,211 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 20 March 2022.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 9 March 2022 and 15 March 2022, 12,507 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 25.1% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 14,948 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 18 March 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 287 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 18 March 2022.

Deaths

Between 15 March 2022 and 21 March 2022, there have been 786 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 8.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
