Tests

Between 18 March 2022 and 24 March 2022, there have been 5,098,534 tests. This shows an increase of 2.0% compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 19 March 2022 and 25 March 2022, 599,244 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.

52,759,213 people had been given a first dose by the end of 24 March 2022.

49,352,885 people had been given a second dose by the end of 24 March 2022.

38,718,546 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 24 March 2022.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 15 March 2022 and 21 March 2022, 14,376 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 17.4% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 17,440 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 24 March 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 302 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 23 March 2022.

Deaths

Between 19 March 2022 and 25 March 2022, there have been 950 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 26.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
