Testing

Testing is where we do a test to see who has coronavirus. Some people are tested more than once.

There were 854,697 tests reported on 2 June 2021. This shows a decrease of -21.2% compared to the previous 7 days.

Between 27 May 2021 and 2 June 2021, there have been 4,873,840 tests.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

5,274 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 3 June 2021.

Between 28 May 2021 and 3 June 2021, 26,972 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 38.9% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

39,758,428 people had been given a first dose by the end of 2 June 2021.

26,422,303 people had been given a second dose by the end of 2 June 2021.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

110 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 30 May 2021.

Between 24 May 2021 and 30 May 2021, 857 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 3.0% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 919 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 1 June 2021.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 129 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 2 June 2021.

Deaths

There were 18 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 3 June 2021.

Between 28 May 2021 and 3 June 2021, there have been 54 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -5.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
