UK Covid update 4 August

There were 720,252 tests reported on 3 August 2021. This shows a decrease of -11.7% compared to the previous 7 days.

Between 28 July 2021 and 3 August 2021, there have been 5,405,304 tests.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

29,312 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 4 August 2021.

Between 29 July 2021 and 4 August 2021, 184,308 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -13.7% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

46,928,033 people had been given a first dose by the end of 3 August 2021.

38,733,334 people had been given a second dose by the end of 3 August 2021.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Deaths

There were 119 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 4 August 2021.

Between 29 July 2021 and 4 August 2021, there have been 570 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 14.5% compared to the previous 7 days.
