Testing
Testing is where we do a test to see who has coronavirus. Some people are tested more than once.
There were 806,272 tests reported on 3 June 2021. This shows a decrease of -23.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
Between 28 May 2021 and 3 June 2021, there have been 4,721,105 tests.
Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
5,765 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 5 June 2021.
Between 30 May 2021 and 5 June 2021, 31,395 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 46.2% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.
40,124,229 people had been given a first dose by the end of 4 June 2021.
27,160,635 people had been given a second dose by the end of 4 June 2021.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
154 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 1 June 2021.
Between 26 May 2021 and 1 June 2021, 869 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -0.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 932 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 3 June 2021.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 134 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 3 June 2021.
Deaths
There were 13 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 5 June 2021.
Between 30 May 2021 and 5 June 2021, there have been 61 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 3.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
