There were 1,214,689 tests reported on 5 May 2021. This shows a decrease of -10.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

Between 29 April 2021 and 5 May 2021, there have been 6,203,601 tests.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

2,613 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on .

Between 30 April 2021 and 6 May 2021, 14,311 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -9.5% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

34,934,171 people had been given a first dose by the end of 5 May 2021.

16,291,719 people had been given a second dose by the end of 5 May 2021.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

120 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 2 May 2021.

There were 1,289 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 4 May 2021.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 182 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 5 May 2021.

Deaths

There were 13 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 6 May 2021.

Between 30 April 2021 and 6 May 2021, there have been 81 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -48.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
