UK Covid update 7 August

There were 825,501 tests reported on 5 August 2021. This shows a decrease of -9.2% compared to the previous 7 days.

Between 30 July 2021 and 5 August 2021, there have been 5,301,919 tests.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

28,612 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 7 August 2021.

Between 1 August 2021 and 7 August 2021, 188,060 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -2.2% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

46,997,495 people had been given a first dose by the end of 6 August 2021.

39,210,356 people had been given a second dose by the end of 6 August 2021.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Deaths
