‘You may notice tankers around the area which are pumping water back into our network to restore your water supply while our works continue.
‘We’d like to apologise for any disruption caused by these tankers. Apologies for any inconvenience caused andthank you for your patience.
‘At 1:30 pm on Saturday engineers have closed Carlyle Road at Loughborough Road because of a manhole which has been opened – engineers have also dug another hole opposite Northwold Avenue near Chaworth Road.’

10:40 am – Repair isn’t yet complete.
The incident is on Loughborough Road opposite West Park, affecting North Road at its junction. 3-way temporary traffic signals are operating at the junction and both ways on Loughborough Road causing queues.
Severn Trent Water attended at 3 am this morning and scheduled engineers and contractors to begin work today. Contractors are now at the incident.
Severn Trent said:

‘Our teams are carrying out some essential repair work on Loughborough Road.
‘Although we didn’t anticipate this affecting our customers, we are aware that some customer’s supplies have now been impacted.
‘The team on site are committed to getting this resolved quickly and efficiently so the water supply is back to normal as soon as possible.
‘We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing and are confident this repair will be completed by 10 am.’
Water has flooded all the way down North Road to approximately half way along – homes opposite West Park have water at their front doors.

Traffic signals are in place at the Loughborough Road junction with North Road, traffic is delayed as it moves through the works.
