Update: Council ‘considers action’ as no planning permissions given for demolition of West Bridgford Victorian home

Rushcliffe Borough Council has said that no permission was given to demolish a Victorian detached home in Bridgford Road.

The house was demolished at some point in the early part of this year.

A planning application had been submitted for extensions and alterations to the property – but demolition permission wasn’t sought by the owner.

A Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson said: “Permission was not given as part of the planning application to completely demolish the house and no subsequent authorisation for this work was secured.

“We do not condone the action taken on the site. We’re considering what courses of action that can be taken in line with central government guidance.

“The owner of the property has indicated an application for a replacement building on the site may be submitted in due course.”
