The A38 in Derbyshire is closed in both directions between the A61 (Derby) and the A6 (Duffield) due to a Derbyshire Police incident.

5:40 am Sunday 12 March – The road is closed as police attend in concern for a person’s safety.
Diversion Route
Road users travelling southbound are advised to follow the Solid Diamond diversion symbol on road signs.
- Exit the A38 at Little Eaton roundabout onto the A61 south.
- At Pentagon Island with the A52 turn left.
- Follow the A52 then turn right onto the A5111.
- Continue then turn left onto the A6, Alvaston Bypass and continue to the junction with the A50.
- At the A50 turn right and continue until you re-join the A38 at Toyota Island.
Road users travelling northbound are advised to follow the Hollow Square diversion symbol on road signs.
- Exit the A38 at Kingsway roundabout and take the A5111.
- At the Spondon junction with the A52 turn left.
- Follow the A52 until the Pentagon roundabout.
- Turn right onto the A61 and continue until you re-join the A38 at Little Eaton roundabout
