The A46 in Lincolnshire is closed in both directions between the A1133 Winthorpe Roundabout (near Newark) and A1434 Hykeham Roundabout (near Lincoln).

Update: the road is also closed in both directions between Pennels and the Halfway House roundabouts at Witham St Hughs, and we expect the closures to be in place until at least the early hours of the morning.
Alert: we are on scene at a serious collision on the A46 close to Witham St Hughs. North and southbound carriageways between Witham St Hughs and Newark Showground are expected to be closed for at least the next few hours, please avoid the route.

Diversion Routes
Northbound
- Exit the A46 at the Brownhills junction and take the A1 northbound
- At the Markham Moor junction turn right onto the A57 eastbound
- Re-join the A46 at Carholme roundabout
Southbound
- Exit the A46 at the Carholme Roundabout and the A57 westbound
- Continue to the Markham Moor junction and turn left on to the A1 southbound
- Re-join the A46 at the Newark junction
