A two-car collision on the A50 westbound between the A511 for Scropton and the A515 for Sudbury has resulted in significant damage to roadside infrastructure.
One of the vehicles struck a lamp column, causing structural damage that poses a safety risk to road users. As a result, the road has been fully closed in this section to allow for the area to be made safe.
Contractors are en route to carry out the necessary repairs, and National Highways traffic officers remain on scene managing the incident.

Exit the A50 westbound at the junction with the A511 near Scropton.
→ Travel south on Station Road (A511) toward Hatton.At the mini roundabout in Hatton, turn right onto Scropton Road.
→ Continue through Scropton village.Scropton Road becomes Leathersley Lane as you leave the village.
→ Follow Leathersley Lane until you reach the A515 junction.At the junction with the A515, turn right (northbound)toward Sudbury.
→ Continue to the A50 Sudbury roundabout.Rejoin the A50 westbound at Sudbury and continue your journey.
