A lorry fire caused the closure of the M1 in Derbyshire.

Two lanes (of 4) are now open on the M1 southbound in Derbyshire between J29 (Chesterfield) and J28 (Mansfield).
Recovery is being arranged for the burnt out lorry. There are minor delays on approach. Allow extra time.

Traffic has now been released in lane 4 on the M1 southbound in Derbyshire between J29 (Chesterfield) and J28 (Mansfield).
All other lanes remain closed at this time whilst the fire service remain in attendance.
National Highways said at 6:43 am on Saturday 26 April:
‘Traffic has been STOPPED on the M1 southbound in Derbyshire between J29 (Chesterfield) and J28 (Mansfield) due to a lorry fire.
The fire has now been extinguished and we’re now making preparations to re-open lane 4 when safe to do so. Thanks for your patience.’
