Updates: Road closed A52 West Bridgford – Man in hospital with life-threatening injuries after motorbike collision

Emergency services are in attendance following a collision between a car and a motorbike on Clifton Bridge, Clifton Boulevard.

A man riding the bike has been taken to hospital with injuries that are potentially life-threatening.

A female rider is also receiving treatment for injuries that aren’t at this stage believed to be life-altering.

The incident is understood to have taken place just before 3.45pm today (19 August).

Road closures are currently in place between Clifton Boulevard and the Nottingham Knight island on the A52 carriageway heading towards the Queen’s Medical Centre.

Drivers are urged to avoid travelling through this area while the scene remains in place.

Anyone with any information about what happened is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 498 of 19 August 2022


The A52 is closed westbound between the A60 (West Bridgford) and the A453 (Clifton) due to a collision

Diversion Route

  • From the A52 Wheatcroft Island, take the exit onto the A606 towards West Bridgford.
  • Follow the A606 for 3.8km and then join the A60 heading into Nottingham city centre.
  • At the signalised junction with Queen’s Street, turn left onto the A6019.
  • Follow the A6019 around past the railway station and onto Waterway Street.
  • At the next main junction, turn left onto the A453 heading west
  • Re-join the A52 at Queen’s Drive Interchange

Delays are likely on approach to the closure and diversion routes.
