Victorian pub building in Nottingham to be sold by council

The decision taken by Nottingham City Council is part of a number of asset sales taking place this year.

In a decision document, the council proposes the sale of the freehold to the Hole in the Wall public house in North Sherwood St in the city.

The note states:

‘To declare the premises of Hole in The Wall Public House, 63 North Sherwood Street, Nottingham, NG1 4EZ surplus to the Trading Account and make the freehold available for disposal. No alternative operational, regeneration, community or other requirements have been identified.’

‘In response to the Council’s Together for Nottingham Recovery and Improvement Plan Refresh 2022 the Council has commenced a review of premises within the Property Trading Account which could be considered for disposal.

The pub is operated by Admiral Taverns and its operation is not affected by the sale decision.

A decision was also made this month to sell off the freehold to The Navigation Inn on Wilford Street.
