Video: Walking Netball comes to West Bridgford

England Netball’s newest programme Walking Netball is coming to Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford.

The first session starts on Thursday the 13th April 2017 11.00-12 noon and costs £3 a week.

This is England Netballs latest version of the sport. With over forty sessions now up and running across the country and Hosts ready to deliver, Walking Netball has made an exciting start. 80% of people joining a Walking Netball session would say that they are new to netball, meaning that they have either never picked up a netball or haven’t played for many years.

Walking Netball is the slowed down version of the game with adapted rules, designed for anyone looking to exercise in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. The game is for all ages and abilities.

One of the latest Walking Netball participants, Bev, had this to say;-
“I was forced into retirement from sport due to bad knees and I had been diagnosed with cancer. Once the treatment had finished I wanted to feel healthy again and competitive sport is something I’ve always enjoyed.

I saw an advert on Twitter for Walking Netball from my local council and thought it sounded like a great idea. I was a little nervous at first having not played for many years but it was surprisingly okay and I really enjoyed the session”.
