The Mayor of Rushcliffe Cllr Sue Mallender joined residents, civic leaders, councillors and local dignitaries in observing a two minute silence to mark Armistice Day this Thursday, 11 November.
The Remembrance event on Central Avenue in West Bridgford began shortly before 11am with prayers and a bugler playing The Last Post on the stroke of the hour – and then followed the two minute reflection.
Cllr Mallender said: “It is so important that we pay our respects for Armistice Day, especially after COVID restrictions meant we were not able to in this way in 2020.
