Wanted man arrested in Nottingham – knives, knuckle-duster, TASER and drugs recovered

The man was arrested further on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs as well as possession of firearms and a taser.

A man wanted by police in Buckinghamshire for two years has been arrested after officers from Nottinghamshire Police spotted a suspicious car.

Police had been alerted to the presence of a car believed to be linked to the man in Beckhampton Road, Bestwood earlier this week.

At 1am on Friday 23 October, police investigated the house in the street and arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs in connection with an incident that happened in 2018.

When officers searched the house, class A and class B drugs including what is suspected to be heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis  were seized along with a hunting knife, flick knife, knuckle-dusters and a TASER

Police are also investigating the discovery of three potential firearms and work is underway to establish their viability.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a brilliant spot by officers out on patrol to help locate a man wanted for two years.

“We are pleased to have recovered drugs and weapons as part of our enquiries and we are now working to establish the circumstances around the items recovered”

“Drug and violent crime is totally unacceptable and we will always investigate reports thoroughly.

“Firearms offences are among the most serious and we are working to establish if the three potential guns recovered from the scene are viable.”
