Warning after ‘cold call’ gardeners operate in Gotham

Police warn residents after gardening work was paid for and not carried out.

‘Reports have been received of a male visiting an address on Wodehouse Avenue in Gotham and offering to do some gardening work.

‘This was during the early evening of Monday 12/08/2019.

‘The occupant had money taken from them but the work has not been carried out.

‘The male is described as white 30 to 40 years of age, around 6ft tall slim build with short dark hair.

‘If you have any information about someone matching that description in Gotham yesterady evening please call 101 and quote incident 000850-12082019

‘The advice is to not agree to any kind of work being carried out from ‘cold callers’ or let them into your house.

‘If you need work done, ask for a number of quotes from reputable traders or from someone that is recommended by a neighbour, friend or family.’
