Firefighters in Nottinghamshire attended the incident in the open today.
Firefighters in Retford said on Saturday 29 April:
‘This afternoon we attended a fire which was started by children.
‘Luckily the identity of the children has been captured by local CCTV in the area and been passed on to the police.
‘However, we can’t stress strongly enough that incidents like this one, not only take up a great deal of our time and resources but are also extremely costly to our local farming communities.
‘As we see the weather starting to get warmer, please be aware of the risks and dangers of children playing with fire. Especially near farms, parks and fields.’
