Warning after male seen trying doors and running through gardens in Forest Fields


Police are investigating after an attempted burglary suspect was seen running through gardens and trying to get into homes in Forest Fields.

It was reported that a male suspect tried the doors of homes in Austen Avenue between 4am and 4.20am on Sunday (28 February 2021).

Detectives are carrying out enquiries, including checking CCTV footage, and are appealing for anyone who saw anything or who has any information which could help them with their investigation to please get in touch.

The suspect is white, of medium build is believed to be aged in his mid 20s. He had facial stubble and was wearing black and grey clothing and a baseball cap.

He was seen drinking from a small clear bottle with a red top, which looked like it was a small half bottle of vodka.

Detective Sergeant Louise Bradford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working hard to establish who is behind these attempted burglaries and to make sure they are brought to justice.

“If anybody in the area saw or heard anything suspicious in area around the times stated then please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 606 of 28 February 2021, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“We have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to local residents and we’d urge anyone who has any concerns to speak to one of our officers.”
