A dog walker quickly called police after she was shocked to see a man indecently exposing himself in the Gamston area.
Nottinghamshire Police are now investigating the report from the woman, which caused the victim alarm and distress.
It was reported that a man indecently exposed himself along the Gamston canal path between Lingmell Close and Waterside Close on Wednesday (24 March 2021) between 6.50am-7.15am.
Officers are now appealing for any information and warning the local community.
Inspector Craig Berry said: “Nottinghamshire Police take offences of this nature seriously and an active investigation is under way.
“We would like to reassure the public that the Neighbourhood Policing Team, together with our partners, are undertaking a number of measures in order to prevent further offending. We have already increased our visible presence in the area since the incidents.
“We are appealing for anyone with information in relation to these offences to contact us.
“The man has been described as white, around 5’7 tall, slim athletic build, aged early 20s, dark hair and wearing a blue hooded top, a khaki gilet and blue tracksuit bottoms.
“Anyone with information to the identity of the offender or witnessing the incidents, please contact the Control Room by calling 101, quoting incident 97 of 24 March 2021.”
