Nottinghamshire County Council appeals to drivers to obey road closed signs.
A spokesperson said:
‘We’ve closed the A1133 at Girton due to flooding
‘However, we’ve received reports of motorists ignoring the closures and driving through flood water.
‘Remember, we’re protecting YOU by closing roads.

‘When we close a road due to flooding, we are doing this for your safety. You should NEVER drive through flood water, because:
‘You don’t know how deep flood water is
‘Just 30cm of flowing water is enough to move your car
‘There can be hidden dangers underneath flood water.’
