The Met Office said:
‘Although many places will miss them, heavy showers and thunderstorms may affect parts of the area through Wednesday afternoon, before slowly dying out during the evening.
‘A few spots could see as much as 25 mm in an hour, and perhaps 40 mm in 2 or 3 hours.’
Dry at first before outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, develop from mid-morning onwards. Drier during evening and overnight, but still with a few showers. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Sunshine and showers, heavy in places, on Thursday. Cloudy on Friday with rain spreading in from the west later. Further rain on Saturday, becoming windy later.
