Never place batteries in a bin. Instead, place them separately in any bag on the top of any coloured bin for us to collect.
That’s the message from Rushcliffe Borough Council as one of their waste crews were forced to unfortunately put out a small fire in the back of a collection lorry today(May 30) as batteries exploded when recycled with other items.
