Snow and hail showers could lead to icy surfaces, with possible travel disruption.
The warning period is from 9 pm on Thursday 31 March until 10 am 1 April.
The Met Office issued this warning today:
‘Wintry showers will continue overnight Thursday and into Friday leading to icy patches, particularly on untreated surfaces.
‘Some accumulations of snow are also possible, particularly across eastern Scotland and hillier areas of northeast England.
‘1-3 cm accumulations are possible mainly above 200 m, with 5 cm over parts of Scotland, Northumberland and the North York Moors above 300 m.
‘The odd covering is possible to lower levels but this is likely to be short lived.’
