West Bridgford car parks cost 10p more per session when using RingGo App

Car parking charges increased in West Bridgford and Rushcliffe Country Park on 1 May.

Users of the RingGo App face an extra 10p to park in West Bridgford car parks, this is showing on the RingGo app now.

RingGo said:

‘In some areas, a convenience fee has been agreed upon between the council or parking operator and RingGo when using the service. The parking operator may have taken a decision to apply this fee for a number of reasons relating to both cost and convenience.’

There is no 10p charge of course if you use the payment machines using cash, card,  contactless or ApplePay and equivalent.

This means that for Nursery Car Park ( M&S Food Hall ) in West Bridgford, the new rate of 70p for 30 minutes, which has increased from 50p, will cost you 80p if you choose to pay using the RingGo app.

It’s the same for all West Bridgford council-operated car parks for all tariffs and for Rushcliffe Country Park.

When you select a car park, click ‘Prices’ in the top right-hand corner to see the council-set tariff for the car park – and look down and there you’ll see the 10p addition.

A Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson said: “Ring Go users receive the 10p add-on when using the service in anticipation of a possible national parking platform roll out in due course. This could see all providers in the country include this add-on when you pay for parking digitally.

“There is no add-on for those paying by card or cash.

“The new tariffs and RingGo add-on are still very competitive price wise when compared with other busy towns and cities in the region and are the first increases in seven years, with all revenue reinvested back into car parks and the service.

“This includes ensuring the facilities are safe and attractive with maintenance on lighting, resurfacing, ticket machines and electric charging points.

“As part of this ongoing investment this means the majority of our car parks are also regularly awarded the Safer Car Park accreditation.”
