West Bridgford coffee morning at The Friary raises over £300

Over £300 was raised for The Friary at a coffee morning event in West Bridgford on Sunday.

Rushcliffe Borough Council Compton Acres Ward Councillor Hari Om organised the event at Walcote Drive Community Centre, West Bridgford, to support the fantastic work of The Friary.

It was a wonderful turnout of local residents of all ages. The event was a huge success, with over £300 raised in just two hours. Food was provided by Cllr Om and his family, together with volunteers and local businesses, including Studio Chocolate and Lady Bay Pop-Up Café.

Cllr Gordon Wheeler, Cllr Phill Matthews, and Cllr Jonathan Wheeler also joined the residents to help raise money for this good cause.

Cllr Om said: “It was fantastic to see so many people coming along to support the great work of The Friary, from families with young children to elderly residents coming together to raise money for homeless people.”

The residents were very appreciative of this initiative and expressed an interest in getting involved in the next coffee morning for charity.
