Brian Shaw’s bike and trailer were been stolen from his back garden in Patrick Road, West Bridgford.
The incident happened overnight on 27 – 28 August.
Both items are old and the trailer is not safe for use by children.
Brian uses the vehicles to get himself to his allotment, and it’s the only way he can get there.
He’s nearly 83, it’s his only means of transport because he has mobility issues (has a replacement ankle and during lockdown had a blood clot in one leg.)
Brian needs the bike to keep mobile to help his recovery from this clot.
He has only recently stopped teaching people to ride bikes and still occasionally assists on local guided rides.
Over the years he’s taught thousands in local schools. He’s a local legend!
The bike is described as a maroon Dawes Kingpin with whitewall tyres and a black saddle.
The trailer is a former child carrier in poor condition but useful for the allotment.
