West Bridgford FC appoint Chris Galley as new manager

West Bridgford FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Galley as its new manager.

Mr. Galley joins West Bridgford FC after previous spells in management at Nottinghamshire sides Arnold Town and Real United.

In his playing days, Galley featured for Nottingham Forest and Coventry City – playing in the famous Sky Blues FA Youth Cup-winning team of 1987.

He also spent over three years playing football in Hong Kong.

The new manager will be joined by Chris Withe, a former Newcastle United, Bradford City, Notts County and Mansfield Town player, who will take up the role as assistant manager.

Galley has also added coaches Nathan Corden and Chris Norris to the staff.

The new team replace outgoing managers Ryan Doherty and Danny Walsh, who were in charge of the side for 20 months and famously managed the side during their successful FA Vase cup run – which saw them just five matches away from a Wembley final.

Mr Galley said he was really looking forward to working with the established squad.

He said: “Myself and Chris are delighted to be taking over the management of West Bridgford FC.

“Like any management team, we are looking to progress and improve as a squad and push on from all the fantastic work that Ryan and Danny have done.

“We are hopeful of retaining the majority of last season’s squad, which, with a couple of additions, looks very positive.

He added: “We just want to get started and back to football as soon as it is safe to do so.”

Club chairman Peter Stansbury said; “We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Galley as our new men’s team manager.

“Chris has great stature in the game and brings a high level of management and coaching experience. He is also aligned with our club aspiration to create a standard to which the youth section can aspire to.”
