The club, which has 95 members who play weekly across 6 teams has been raising money and attracting the help of local businesses.

Southwell based Bee Clear Energy Solutions Ltd have joined up by sponsoring the ladies second team and attended the kit launch on Saturday 7 October and watched the ladies secure a 4-3 victory against local rivals Boots Hockey Club.

Jason Rodd from Bee Clear “We are proud to sponsor West Bridgford Ladies 2nd team. The team and indeed the club are a credit to local community. With funding for clubs of this kind in such short supply, it’s a pleasure to be able to support in any way we can. The team have experienced an excellent start to the season and we wish them all the success for the coming year and beyond – Game On

The club, which trains on a Monday and Wednesday evening have plans to continue fundraising and get more ladies involved in the sport.

Laura Smith, Chair of the Ladies section said “our aim is to increase participation and get as many people in West Bridgford, of all ages and abilities playing hockey. The money we raise from sponsorship helps to offset the cost of equipment, kit and facilities so that people can just turn up and play. It is great to have the support of businesses like Bee Clear.”

The club is open to new members and will continue to fundraise by bag packing at the Morrisons store in Gamston on Sunday 19th November.
