Following the huge success of the West Bridgford Junior and Infant School Community Food Festival for the past four years, the event will return on Saturday 16 May 2026.
Originally, this event was organised as part of the ongoing work of the Community Hub, formed to promote wider engagement with the local school community and celebrate the cultural diversity within our community.
Beth Arnold, who is Deputy Head Teacher and also leads the Community Hub, spoke to the Wire about this year’s event:
“We’re delighted to be able to host this exciting gathering again this year. The success of the Community Food Festival has grown and grown and is well attended by both our school community and the wider local community.
“This year, we will showcase the return of some of our favourite food stalls such as Vegetarian Rasoi, Falafel Baffle and Chloe’s Cupcakes, alongside some new and enticing food offers!
“We are also thrilled to announce that we will be entertained throughout the day with a superb selection of live music from the very talented Jimmy Evans and our very own West Bridgford Junior and Infant School Choirs.
“We also have Helter Skelter circus workshops, Bunbu Dojo Karate and guitar workshops, all free of charge! There will also be lots of other activities and entertainment for the children to get involved in.
This year promises to be even better than last year and is open to all our friends and family in the local West Bridgford community. There is free entry to the event, so if you can make it, we’d love to see you there. There will be collection points on the gates for food donations to the Friary.
Just come along any time between 11 am till 3.30 pm to our Cottages Field on Tudor Road in West Bridgford NG2 6EB, and enjoy our Community Food Festival vibe!”
