Children at West Bridgford Junior School are continuing with one of their goals for 2022 of re-connecting with the local community.
The latest project from their ‘Community Hub’ is an art exhibition of children’s work, which is currently being displayed at West Bridgford Methodist Church on Musters Road.
The art work the children have produced is all based on photographs they have taken in their local community. Each year group was given a different theme: nature in the community, local landmarks, historical aspects or people who serve our community.
Each photograph is displayed alongside the piece of work it has inspired and the church is currently filled with amazing art which celebrates the West Bridgford community.
Teacher Becky Cox, who leads art in school, told The Wire:
‘We are really proud of the children and the quality of the work they have produced; It is a wonderful representation of our community.
“We are really grateful to the Methodist Church for allowing us to display the children’s work in this way and we hope that as many people as possible are able to visit the gallery to see what a fantastic job the children have done.’
The gallery opens today and is available to view at the following times:
