The new library was officially opened on Wednesday 16 March by Poet, Paul Cookson.
As spokesperson for the school said:
‘We’ve opened our brand new library today!
‘It’s a fantastic space full of lovely books to inspire our young readers.
‘There’s even a treehouse for the children to read in.
‘Poet, Paul Cookson, cut the ribbon for us at lunchtime on 16 March.
‘During the day, the children have all participated in some wonderful workshops and performed some hilarious poetry under the guidance of our special guest.
‘Paul is a great performer and we’ve learnt just how much fun poetry can be.
‘The new library is an incredible improvement on the old library space which was located in a section of the corridor.
‘We’ll be able to bring in groups of children for phonics, story-time and lots more learning. Reading is a vital part of our curriculum.
‘We know that reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success – more than their family circumstances, their parents’ educational background or their income.’
