West Bridgford Junior School’s annual Community Food Festival this May

West Bridgford Junior School is holding its annual Community Food Festival on Saturday May 18 – with all residents welcome.

Following two hugely successful years, the event returns with stalls from a host of exciting local food vendors including Vegetarian Rasoi, Falafel Baffle, Aficionadoughs Pizza, Chloe’s Cupcakes, All Flavaz and Blackbird Coffee.

There will also be live music, entertainment, and a licensed bar run by the school’s Home School Association.

The festival is being held between 11 am and 3.30 pm on Cottages Field, Tudor Road, West Bridgford, NG2 6EB.

It was originally organised as part of the on-going work of the school’s Community Hub, which was formed in 2022 to promote wider engagement with people living locally and celebrate the area’s cultural diversity.

WBJS Assistant Headteacher Beth Arnold, who leads the Community Hub and is organising the event, said:

“We’re thrilled to be able to host this wonderful gathering once again. “The previous two years have been massively popular – really well attended by both our school community, and the wider local community.

“This year will feature the return of some of our favourite food stalls such as Falafel Baffle and Vegetarian Rasoi, alongside some new and enticing food offers.

“We are also delighted to announce that we will be entertained throughout the day with a superb selection of live music from Jimmy Evans, DJ Martin, Unnamed Jazz and our very own infant and junior school choirs.

“Aside from the food and music there will be lots to do for all ages, including circus skills with Helter Skelter Arts, games from TB Sport, music workshops and activities by the local Boys Brigade. “This year promises to be even better than last, and is open to all our friends and family in the local Community, so if you can make it we’d love to see you there.”
