Community choir – The West Bridgford Liberty Singers- celebrated its 2nd birthday last night with 157 singers at rehearsal in Lutterell Hall.

The group has gone from strength to strength attracting singers from far and wide performing at many local events such as the Christmas Lights Switch on in West Bridgford and the Proms in the Park.

They also have a regular slot at Portello Lounge on Central Avenue which is very popular.

Made up of singers of all abilities and experience, the choir prides themselves on their community spirit and inclusive nature.

Last night around 30 new people came along and joined in as they learned a whole new batch of songs. Much tea was drunk, cake eaten – and there was a feeling of magic in the air.

The benefits of singing are very well known (we all feel a bit better after a good sing) but the benefits of singing in a group amplify this massively. Doors to new members are now closed until September but watch out for local gigs which everyone is welcome to attend.
