Sadly, baby Sophia was stillborn in 2013 due to a rare heart defect, alongside Poppy, her healthy twin sister. Over the last 4 years the family have been determined to turn their heartbreak into positive action to help others and to keep their daughter’s memory alive.

With the help of family, friends and local businesses they have raised over £15,000 for various charities. They have organised charity events and Cat has become a keen runner, running half marathons and marathons to raise cash. Next year Cat will be running the London Marathon for the third consecutive year as part of their continued fundraising.
The charity closest to their heart is Make-a-Wish UK who Cat is now a volunteer for.
Make-a-Wish UK grant magical wishes for poorly children facing life threatening illnesses and if their daughter Sophia was here today, she would be one of these children. As an experienced wish visitor for the charity, Cat meets these children and their families and helps to grant magical wishes, ensuring they are as special and personal as can be. She sees first hand where the money raised goes and the difference it makes.
They are hoping that their fundraising event in a few weeks time will be a huge success and are inviting people to attend the event and share with their friends – Facebook Event here
