This year’s Proms in the Park takes place TODAY Saturday September 18 with music fans set to descend on Bridgford Park in West Bridgford for the annual celebration in conjunction
with the local Armed Forces.
From 2pm to 8pm, coordinators Rushcliffe Borough Council will be welcoming a host of
local groups and artists entertaining event goers with an array of musical talent to the free
event with no tickets or booking required.
The event was postponed from its usual June date coinciding with Armed Forces Day due
to the extension of the COVID-19 Government road map.
It will be a belated celebration of the Armed Forces’ commitments in the Borough that
include support from Rushcliffe’s Community Covenant.
The stage programme is as follows:
2pm: Pure Steel, junior steel band
3.30pm: Faith Tucker, local operatic soloist
5pm: ZCC carnival style brass band
6.30pm: The New Jersey Boys, Frankie Valli tribute
There will also be community displays from organisations including Nottinghamshire Fire
and Rescue Service, Royal Logistics Corps and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
which is this year’s official charity.
