West Bridgford residents in Malvern Road, Harrow Road, Selby Road and several other nearby roads reported a tornado hitting the area at around 7:30 am this morning Monday 15 April.
A warning for strong winds was issued by the Met Office this morning – but not early enough to prepare residents in West Bridgford for what was to come.
Looking like a scene from a Hollywood movie, roads are strewn with roof tiles, fallen trees – almost every house on some streets has suffered roof damage, and in some cases, garages and outbuildings are damaged.
A Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson said: “We are working with other agencies and our Streetwise teams are assisting the clear up of the public areas affected wherever we can.”
