Rob McDonough, Principal at The West Bridgford School, talks about the recently published interim school performance tables.
Rob told us:
“The interim school performance tables were published last week and I do believe that parents of the West Bridgford School have good cause to be pleased with their schools performance. Our attainment 8 score (60), along with our grade 5 or above in english and maths (77%) and our grade 4 or above in English and maths (92%) is the best in the county. Indeed, our performance makes us the highest performing, non-selective, state funded school in the whole of the East Midlands. This is an accolade we have achieved many times before in the last seven years.
“I am also very pleased with our progress 8 figure of +0.57. This means that we add in excess of half a GCSE grade above that which is expected for each child, showing that we add real value for the children in our care.
“Our year on year success is down to a combination of three factors. We have great children who want to succeed, we have very supportive parents who support us and trust us to get on with the job, and we have fabulous staff who are experts in their respective fields. This combination is the hallmark of a successful school.”
