West Bridgford’s Christmas House display grand switch-on announced

It’s that time of year again and Gamston resident David Carter will be lighting up his home with a fantastic Christmas Display to raise money for charity.

For the past 11 years David has put on a mesmerisingly festive Christmas display outside his home to raise money for charity. This will be the 8th year in which he will be raising money for the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre.

Santa Claus will perform the “Grand Switch On” which will take place on Sunday November 26th at 5pm Plus there will be a raffle with excellent prizes.

Christmas Music will accompany the display.

“My display will be raising money for the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre to which I am affiliated.

“All donations go towards helping to care for all the wonderful animals and the running of the centre and they will be very much appreciated.

“The Centre is funded independently and costs £800,000 to run annually and receives no financial aid from the RSPCA National Society.

“Last year I raised nearly £4000. This year I would like to exceed this amount especially because of the cost-of-living crisis our costs have skyrocketed.”

David has had amazing feedback from visitors he said. I get asked constantly are you doing again this year, it is now expected that the display goes ahead and it will be no different this year.

When asked why do I do the display, he said I love doing it and get very excited to see the children’s faces light up and especially when they point at the different lights and effects.

It also amazing how the donations come in, some nights you hardly see anyone and the amounts given really surprise you.

Donations can be made by popping money into the red collection box outside the house or you can simply text for example to ‘RSPCALIGHTS 5’to 70085 to donate £5, or text ‘RSPCALIGHTS 10’ to 70085 to donate £10, or any amount, alternately one can use the QR code on the notice board this uses the just giving system and utilises the gift aid.

If you miss the November 26th Grand Switch On, don’t worry! David’s Christmas Display will be on daily from 4pm – 9pm until December 31st.

David’s lights will be at his home at 4 Sandale Close Gamston Nottingham NG2 6QG.

Every child attending receives a free lollipop.
