West Bridgford’s St Giles to live stream Easter Sunday service

For the first time in over 800 years, worshippers will not be gathering at St Giles for worship on Easter Sunday.

The celebration of Jesus’s resurrection is the most important event in the Christian calendar but coronavirus restrictions mean that St Giles along with other faith groups are not able to meet together.

In response, the church is going to stream its Sunday morning service on the internet.

The Rector Rev Lee Proudlove says:

‘This is a new thing for us and many churches but we knew we had to find a way to worship together.

‘We’ve put together a service that will be streamed from people’s homes and will have all the elements an Easter Sunday service should have, worship, prayer and joy – we normally have lots of visitors at Easter and we hope for lot’s more guests online too, all are welcome’

The service will be streamed at 10 am Easter Sunday online at https://stgiles.online.church
