A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a serious collision involving a vehicle in Wilkinson Street.

‘Due to a serious road traffic accident on Wilkinson Street in Basford, traffic is currently being diverted onto the Rainbow 1 route.
‘As a result, we’re experiencing significant congestion and delays of up to 40 minutes across the Rainbow one service.’

Police said the collision happened at 2.45pm on Thursday 1 October.
The road is closed while officers investigate, with police warning it will remain shut “for some time”.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
No further details about the pedestrian’s condition have been released.
