Engineers are removing the two wind turbines at the country park.
The wind turbines have come to the end of their life and growing trees are disturbing the path and speed of wind hitting the devices and so the move to solar power is being introduced.
The council says that other improvements are being made to the popular country park this year too.

A Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson said: “This is the first step of exciting developments for Rushcliffe Country Park in the coming months.
“The decision to decommission the turbines was due to the end of their natural lifespan and low wind speed at the site impacted by the maturity of the park in recent years so instead alternative renewable energy technology will now be used.
“The park’s education centre and separate toilet block and tool store will undergo a wider refurbishment to make use of its green spaces including installation of solar panels to generate over 80% of the energy requirements of the site.
“This is due to start later this year and will include enhanced toilet facilities and a takeaway café.”
