Witness appeal after serious assault in Nottingham city centre

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a serious assault in Nottingham city centre.

The attack happened in Thurland Street shortly before 5.15am on Saturday (16 August).

A man was punched and fell unconscious after hitting his head on the ground. He was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre where he is in a stable condition.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about the incident to come forward without delay.

Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We are working to understand what happened in the moments before, during and after this assault and are asking for the public’s help in tracking down the person or people responsible.

“We are currently following several lines of inquiry. To assist us further we are asking anyone who saw or heard anything relating to this incident to come forward without delay.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 103 of 16 August 2025.
