Witness appeal after woman verbally abused in Beeston town centre

Police have launched an appeal after a woman was verbally assaulted in Beeston.

Two men approached the victim while she was sitting on a bench outside the Sue Ryder, shop on High Road, on 14 March.

At around 12pm, it’s believed that the two men, both described as white, hurled insults at the victim.

One individual was described as being approximately 5’5”, of large build, with brown hair and a beard.

The other man was described to be of slim build with no facial hair.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who was in the surrounding area and saw what happened, and who may have CCTV footage, to get in touch with them immediately.

Investigator Sophie Orange, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“No one should have to go out into Beeston town centre and face any type of abuse, so we are determined to track down those responsible.

“We would like to hear from any witnesses who were in the surrounding area during the incident, as well as those who may have CCTV footage.

“I would urge any members of the public who have any information to call 101 quoting occurrence 26*166674 and Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
