Woman, 73, robbed of her handbag at Nottingham Station tram stop

The 73-year-old victim got off the tram at Nottingham Station in the city centre and had her shopping bag with her.

A man has appeared in court in connection with a robbery of an elderly woman at a tram stop.

The 73-year-old victim got off the tram at Nottingham Station in the city centre and had her shopping bag with her.

It’s alleged a man grabbed her bag and ran away shortly before 8.30am on 30 August.

Police arrested a suspect in the Station Street area of the city centre on Saturday (4 September 2021) in connection with the incident.

Jason Burton, aged 40, from Norton Street in Radford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday 6 September 2021) charged with robbery.

He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 4 October 2021.
