Woman arrested and sword recovered after incident in Sneinton

She remains in custody.

A sword has been recovered and a woman has been arrested after a reports that a woman was seen with a weapon in a street.

Police quickly arrested a 36-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing a bladed article after reports of the incident in Sneinton Boulevard, Sneinton at around 7.45pm last night (Friday 24 September 2021).

A sword was also recovered following the incident.

Police Investigator Holly Carrington, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The consequences of carrying a weapon can be devastating and we take all reports of possession extremely seriously. Reports like this will always lead to a swift police response.

“Officers were quick to respond to the reports and arrest a woman, who remains in custody and will be interviewed. A sword was also recovered following the incident, which is a positive as it is now off the street and safely stored.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we would ask anyone who saw the incident or has any information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 720 of 24 September 2021.”
